Dr. Chhina is a bay area native – where she grew up in San Jose. She is the leading veterinarian and one of our clinic owners. From a very young age she knew veterinary medicine was her calling; a sentiment that keeps growing each day, as she realizes the reward of working with animals. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in the beautiful Caribbean and completed her clinical rotations at Purdue University. Following the completion of her degree, she began practicing at busy hospitals for some time, bringing her to a realization for the need of a more personable family practice. As a result, Dr.Chhina decided to venture out and open her own clinic. She has tremendous dedication towards her patients and clients, as well as working each case with the utmost compassion. She is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), CVMA (California Veterinary Medical Association), AAHA(American Animal Hospital Association), and VECCS (Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society).
Dr. Chhina is happily married to our managing partner Hobie, and they are proud parents of a Maltese poodle mix named Frodo and their darling 2-year old toddler. When she isn’t working with her fur patients, she is spending time with her family, which may be a number of things they love to do outdoors: the beach, camping/hiking/kayaking, gardening and her most favorite of all - cooking! Dr. Chhina and her husband are quite the foodies and they love trying all types of cuisines, especially the more adventurous dishes. Like most of us - she also really enjoys her movies and music - whether it be Nina Simone, Glen Miller or Frank Sinatra - to - Marvin Gaye, Coldplay, and even some Deep house beats.
Her belief is, “We can achieve anything, if only we put our mind to it; we may just have to get a little creative to achieve it!” As William Faulkner said, “Don’t bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.” Dr. Chhina hopes to not only teach something new everyday but rather learn something new each day.
